future fashion from london

Richard Nicoll's designs curiously described as "Baberella meeets mental asylum chic"! Although they have a certain futuristic appeal, not sure about the description! More here.

Just a tiny little nap, pleeze?

Holy Sleep Deprivation! Doesn't it sometimes feels like if you had one of these your nap time would be well accommodated?

Messy Messy Messy

I have been having severe "Spring cleaning Fever", not surprising when my house resembles this,

not this...

In an attempt to discover the secret of de-cluttering, I have taken the tips offered at freshome and organized them in a simple list:

1. Be ruthless and chuck anything you will NOT use anytime in the future
2. Do NOT buy anything too large for your home's size
3. Do NOT buy impulsively (guilty)
4. Create separate storage space for the stuff you cannot bear to chuck
5. Decorate around a central piece. (a pile of junk doesn't count)
6. Multi purpose your furniture
7. Maximize space, get rid of clutter, that is: stuff you do NOT need
8. In case, you missed it, get rid of clutter!

In my house I would say I would have to get rid of just about everything, because I have way too much stuff that truly I could live without, and I doubt it will ever look like this...

but you gotta start somewhere!

transparent Less is more computer

This sexy desktop would look right at home on my minimalist desk in my minimalist contemporary home (just kidding), I don't have either one, but I can dream! "Proposed to be sold as a stand-alone unit the HP LiM (Less is More) concept is set to feature a 19″ transparent touch OLED screen along with a wireless keyboard. The touch screen slides down to create a more ergonomic touch experience and easy navigation. It also features a virtual trackpad thus cutting down on mouse costs." Designer: Jeffrey S. Engelhardt. art that stimulates

While the tongue in cheek work of Saul Steinberg, is from some time ago, (1949), it still seems fresh and modern, (and humorous as well, look closely).
Steinberg was born in Romania in 1914 and passed in 1999, during his long relationship with the New Yorker, (sixty years) he produced 90 covers and 1200 drawings. While most artists favor one media, Steinberg used ink, pencil, charcoal, crayons, watercolor, oil, gouache and even rubber stamps, and ventured into sculpture. See more here. Thanks to here

Minimalist Gorgeousness in Toronto

I am in love with this staircase!

This wonder of loveliness, minimalist home on Russell Hill by gh3 in Toronto, Canada, makes me want to completely clear out my whole house, and chuck everything except the absolute bare minimum of stuff. Alas, as a tinker, we cannot bear to part with anything, and I mean anything, so it is not to be. Maybe in my next life. Images courtesy:Daily Icon.

Darlings, this is my new mantra! It certainly is just that!
Thanks to the lovelies at scandaloushousewife.

Funny Funny People

Notice that I have added a few new blogs at right for my blog list (well, to the right and down a bit). These are just a few of the hilarious blogs I discovered via the gals at Sits. Trouble is I spent so much time reading their hilarity, I didn't have time to write here and now I have to add all the links, but will update the list as fast as I can. Check them out, they are awesome!

All my Ducks in a Row

This is probably the only time I will have all my ducks in a row! (taken by yours truly in St Augustine, Florida.)

Funny!

these days, no doubt we can all use a giggle, the following list of questions are food for thought when considering they are "Secure Website Authentification Questions". Courtesy JOEL GUNZ.

What is your mother's maiden name?

What is your older sister's favorite Monopoly game piece?

Who did your paternal grandfather vote for in the 1956 presidential election?

Why did you choose a liberal-arts degree when your entire family urged you to go into finance?

In what year did you begin working on your novel?

How many weeks away was graduation when you dropped out of college?

What was your score on the civil-service employment exam?

Where were you sitting when your girlfriend told you she was pregnant?

Where did you never end up going for your honeymoon?

In what year did you begin working for the post office?

What is the name of the hedge-fund manager your ex-wife married?

How many hours did it take you to drink that bottle of Jack Daniel's yesterday?

What time was it when, in a drunken rage, you threw your novel into the fire?

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?

Gorgeous Edible Creations

The amazing bespoke work of Mich(elle) Turner of (UK-based), Little Venice Cake Company features works of edible art. I love the simplicity of the white pearl cake,
and these edible little darlings make cupcakes look passe.

80's redux at Marc Jacobs

Although it seems like the makeup looks seen at the Fall 09 Marc Jacobs collection smack a whole lot of the 80's, they still have a slightly updated twist, though the punked out hair, not so much! Thank goodness I am too old to have to revisit that look!

Comfy Cuddly Coussin Couch

Although at first glance, this may look like a nice comfy couch, don't you just love the fact that the end pillows can be position to wrap around you? How cozy!

Stylish Decor and Happy Valentine's!

The inspiring work of Prop Stylist, Chiara Alberetti Milott demonstrates the talent I wished I possessed. I sometimes think that I maybe I have it, but then realize, I don't have the full-blown gene, thankfully there are those who do!

How simply divine is this?
or this?
Gorgeous Entry ensemble!

Great vignette for the next holiday on our calendars! Easter!
Thank you Chiara and see more here.

How lovely is this bed? Available here. (Monique Bed $4399 for the King). Thinking it would look even better with these linens....(well maybe not the pillows), but the comforter, mmmm.....
