Flowers for you, because I am so lame/o!
Okay my fellow bloggees, it is just about as hot as Hades here, and we can virtually manage to get out of the bed in the a.m., let alone the house, so here are some early spring images from my eastern trip! Sorry to be so g-d lame with le postings, but southern climes only allow for a few hours a day of cognisant thought! The rest of the time is consumed with ways to combat the heat! Excuse me while I go lie down on the tile floor, just so I can breathe! and it's nine o'clock at night!
We only have dreadfully wilted flowers here, but the grass is growing faster than daylight!

Tom Scheerer Design and Decor!
For whatever reason, I had saved the link (for a long time) to the site of the incredibly talented, Tom Scheerer, but somehow never managed to post any of his work, what was I thinking? Well, now that has been remedied, you can all take a powder, and pretend you are on one of his Bahama locales, or any of the above lovelies. (He does do city and country equally well, so you don't have to pick one mind!)

Architecture, with One sheet of Paper!
Ingrid Siliakus is the artist responsible for these works of magic!
Thanks to my darlings at Daily Icon!
Thanks to my darlings at Daily Icon!
The process is described thus: "Paper Architecture is the art of creating an object out of a single piece of paper. Before the final design is finished, something like 20 to 30 (sometimes even more) prototypes are made by Ingrid Siliakus. Drawing paper architecture designs to Ingrid is as building: first one layer, with a single shape, will be drawn and than layer after layer are added. To design a pattern from scratch, the artist needs the skills of an architect to create a two-dimensional design, which, with the patience and precision of a surgeon, becomes an ingenious three-dimensional wonder of paper."
“A growing number of papercraft artists are enjoying the exquisite art of architectural origami, where a single sheet of paper is cut and folded into an intricate miniature structure. Here, three of the world’s leading proponents provide instructions and templates for recreating twenty of the world’s great buildings, from the Taj Mahal to the Rialto Bridge. There are basic principles to start you off, as well as galleries of the finest architectural origami from around the world.”
While I am truly amazed at the dexterity these pieces must require, I am even more amazed at the patience that must be necessary to create these intricate and fab pieces!
